Creates a new animated camera which tracks the selected object/s. It serves the purpose of quickly animating a camera so that you can create a preview to check the movement of a character/s. Keeps your objects (eg. animated character) in full view, and in the center of the viewport throughout the animation time range, like an 'animated zoom extents selected'.
I used to link a camera to the pelvis of the character to track , but it used to be annoying because you completely lose the up/down and rotation of the pelvis.
Usage: Select the objects you need the camera to track (eg. skinned mesh of a character) and click 'Create AutoCam' By simply changing selections you could have different types of camera motion. This motion was generated by selecting head, pelvis and feet of the character along with one of the red pillars |
